How Do You Feel About The Four Day School Week In Homedale? [Poll]

Homedale School District plans on going to a four day school week to save the district $40 - $70k a year after two levies failed.  This morning we were asking you as a parent, teacher, or student how you felt about the change.  The decreased school week would result in an increase in hours the other four days. Lots of great arguments but the overall feeling was that the four day week would be beneficial for everyone involved.  Shelly from Homedale said that she is excited about the potential of a four day school week even though she’s a teacher for Nampa schools.  Her son is in high school and said he was contemplating working on that free day or taking online courses to better prepare him for his next educational step.  When asked about how she felt of the impact on parents of kids who needed child care she made a great point “I think that with the extended school day those are now hours parents won’t have to provide child care and they can put that money toward the day off.” What do you think?  You in favor of a four day school week?
