Fighting For Gucci

I haven't talked much about this particular subject because in all honesty I can't get through even typing this without tears in my eyes. 

I have had my cat Gucci since 2000!  She was a three-year-old super hungry cat when I found her outside of the radio station I worked at when I was in Albuquerque.  We bonded over a bag of Doritos.  Since that day Gucci has moved everywhere I have moved.  New York City, Albuquerque, Portland and now Boise.  She cuddles with me at night and knows EXACTLY when 4am hits on the clock as she loudly meows to let me know it's time to get up for work but more importantly time for her to eat breakfast.

After I got back from the 4th of July holiday in McCall I noticed a tiny bump underneath her body.  Freaking out, I took her that day to the amazing staff at The Cat Doctor.  Dr. Faust has been Gucci's vet since I first got to town....she knows how to deal with Gucci...and me.  I cry when there's just a check-up so you can only imagine my emotional state as Dr. Faust very gently told me Gucci has cancer.  Since she is 17 there isn't much that can be done other than just monitoring her and making her last days the best possible.  I went to Costco that day and bought her lobster and every time I go out to dinner I always make sure to take home extra for Gucci.  The cat eats better than most people.

A week ago El Jefe (our boss at WOW) told me that his brother's cat was suffering from the same cancerous diagnosis and because of its age surgery wasn't an option. That's when they started using "curcumin" and miraculously the tumors shrunk!  I don't know if it works for sure but have been reading about it on all the holistic pet sites. It seems legit.  I bought a bottle this week and while I want nothing more than to tell you I can notice that Gucci's tumors are shrinking the only thing I can really report with certainty is it gives her the absolutely worst gas I have ever smelled.  It's okay though...she's just living out her days in the best way possible!  I will let you know how it goes!  If you want to read more about curcumin here is where I found it.
