Ring Belonging To Serviceman Recovered, 70-Years Later
When Nancy Lee Gevalis was just two-years-old, her father, Sgt. George Pearce, died during a training mission near Pocatello in 1944. Seventy years later, a ring that was worn by her father on the day of the accident, is being returned to Nancy.
The ring was actually Nancy's mother's high school class ring, that she gave to her husband, George, as a good-luck charm. Thanks to local historian and airplane enthusiast, Marc McDonald, it's now on its way to Nancy.
