The Pioneer Fire, which is burning just North of Idaho City has reach 9,400 acres and has firefighters working around the clock to try and contain it. 

It's been tough with triple digit temperatures and shifting winds, but firefighters have been able to keep the fire out of Elk Creek drainage, which is the main water source for Idaho City.

The public needs to be aware that Idaho 21 has been shut down for a 25 mile stretch, just North of Idaho City and South of Lowman from the fire that started Monday.

The fire has reached Whoop-Um-Up Campground, but no other evacuations have been made.

According to KTVB, the cause of the fire remains unknown.
