With a new exhibit coming to Zoo Boise, that means new animals! *insert squeal here* According to Boise Weekly, Zoo Boise broke ground on what will soon be a brand new exhibit called Gorongosa National Park. The $8.9 million project will expand Zoo Boise's area by 1.5 acres! The money was raised by generous donations from the community and Friends of Zoo Boise.

So what animals will call the Gorongosa National Park home? According to Boise Weekly, Zoo Boise will welcome Nile crocodiles, African wild dogs, otters, warthogs, baboons and vervet monkeys. Eek! This sounds like it's going to be amazing. And, we won't have to wait too long, the exhibit is set to open in the Summer of 2019

That's not all that's happening over at Zoo Boise. During construction of the new exhibit, updates will be made to the Primate House and aviaries, new exhibits will be built for the gibbons and the sarus crane, AND new event area will be built boasting a stage and covered seating!
