This is the first time in Idaho history one of our teaches has been inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame.

Jennifer Williams is a retired Nampa High School Art Teacher.  She's in Washington today attending a speech by President Obama.

Williams is one of only five teachers across the nation being inducted into the Hall of Fame.  She's been named Idaho's Teacher of the Year twice during her 40 year tenure.  She retired back in 2004 from Skyview High School but is still active in her non-profit art outreach program called "Van Go", where she goes into rural Idaho schools and teaches kids that don't have art teachers.

Williams' actual induction into the Hall of Fame will take place in Kansas next month.  Her story will be on permanent display at the National Teacher's Hall of Fame Museum in Emporia, Kansas.
