I know, I know, Rick and I don't  have major weight issues, but we're obviously not fit, so we're jumping on the 2017 get fit bandwagon! Follow our plan and maybe you can get a little fitter in the New Year too!

 

I've never had much of a weight problem, but I'm what I call a "skinny flabby" person. I don't have any strength, I'm tired all the time, and I just want to feel better!

 

Rick says he would like to lose about 15 lbs in the gut area and gain some muscle as well. So here's what we are doing.

 

We're following a "clean diet." Good fats like avocados and nuts, lots of protein, and limiting our carbs, especially refined sugar that is in candy bars and desserts.

 

We've committed to working out 5 days a week for at least 20 minutes a day and we're going to post our progress online to keep us motivated and hopefully motivate you as well!

 

We can do this!!

 

I've found the hardest part about eating right is having healthy foods on hand. Here's some suggestions of staples you should keep in your home.

  • nuts (almonds, cashews, peanuts)
  • edemame
  • avocados
  • string cheese
  • deli meat
  • quinoa
  • fresh veggies
  • healthy carbs like oranges and grapefruits
  • eggs
