There is something healing about digging in the dirt and watching a garden grow. A garden in Caldwell is doing just that. Helping veterans cope after war.

It's a peaceful place that those who have served our country can visit to relieve stress and heal from loss, PTSD, and physical disabilities. The Idaho Veterans Garden started last year with a few gardens dedicated to fallen soldiers and has grown to include 33 planter boxes.

Project Manager Danny Pugmire is a veteran and he says gardening saved his life.

Anyone can come to the garden and plant in a box that is not sponsored. For $500 you can sponsor your own planter box for life. Flowers are also provided in case you don't have your own and there is also the option to purchase a brick for $50 that will have your families name on it and be displayed in the garden.
