This cow clearly did not want to go to the butcher!

Over the weekend, things got a little exciting in Pocatello, ID. A cow led police on a wild chase after escaping from Anderson Custom Pack. As an employee was preparing to butcher the cow, it fled and jumped over a six foot fence.

The cow led police on a chase through Pocatello, ramming police cars and an animal control truck. The cow eventually took a break in the back yard of a residence on the north side of Pocatello where police were forced to subdue the animal. Fortunately, no one was injured in the chase, and the residents of Pocatello are able to relax after all of the excitement.

Since then, four other cows have managed to escape from the butcher, and 2 cows are still on the loose. The company says the first cow escaped on it's own, but they think someone broke into the facility on Sunday, because when employees arrived for work, they went to feed the cows and noticed the gate to the corral had been unlatched and the cows were gone.

The cows were on the loose for over 24 hours before animal control notified the police. Two cows have been taken into custody, and two still remain on the loose.

I spoke with the Idaho State Journal, and they simply said; "There's never a dull moment in Pocatello."
