The Top 5 Spots For The Best Seafood in Idaho

When you think of Idaho, you probably don't immediately think about seafood. We can't say we blame you either being that Idaho isn't sitting next to the ocean. Still, Idaho is home to some of the best seafood money can buy.

Where does Idaho's seafood come from?

According to Idaho Fish & Game, "more than 40% of the salmon and 55% of the steelhead in the Columbia River system originated in the Snake River drainage."

They also say that today, a "majority of the salmon and steelhead produced in Idaho come from the Salmon and Clearwater."

As we all know, there are other types of seafood out there including lobster, crab, oysters, etc. And if you know anything about Idaho, you know darn well that the Gem State is home to some of the best restaurants in the country. Boise is even recognized as one of the top foodie destinations in the entire country.

Searching for the best seafood in Idaho

It took a little bit of time, but we sifted through several review sites including (but not limited to) Yelp, Google, and Trip Advisor. We developed a point system based on the ratings of the top five restaurants on review sites. If a restaurant scored number one on that site or platform, that restaurant received 5 points; if they ranked second, they received 4 points, and so on.

Using that information coupled with how they're categorized, we narrowed down the top five seafood restaurants in Idaho. While we would love to share every single rating each restaurant received on every single website, we narrowed that down to our "Big 3" which we consider to be Google reviews, Trip Advisor, and Yelp.
