20th Anniversary of Boise Police Officer Death
Mark Stall is the only Boise Police Department officer killed in the line of duty and the BPD will be holding a special Remembrance Ceremony on September 20, 2017 in his honor.
Boise is known as one of the safest cities in America. It's hard to believe that Mark is the only officer in Boise to be killed in the line of duty. 20 years ago he responded as backup to a routine traffic stop that went bad. The two occupants of the car would not comply with the officers on the scene and became belligerent. Things escalated to where both occupants stepped out of the car firing guns. One bullet hit officer Mark Stall just above his vest and that's the bullet that took his life.
The Remembrance Ceremony will be held at W. Idaho and N. 15th Streets in Boise. The following will be speaking:
- Boise Police Captain Ron Winegar
- Ray Stall
- Boise Police Chief William Bones
- Boise Mayor Dave Bieter
