This is one of the most disturbing stories I've heard in a long time. How does a 14-year-old boy die from a minor skateboarding accident?! You will definitely hold your kids a little tighter after hearing this story.

14-year-old Jacob Rupp took a fall at a local skate park and his family ended up taking him into the hospital because he hurt his wrist and hip. They could never have imagined the events that took place after that that would claim his life.

According to KTVB, doctors told Jacob's family that he suffered from rhabdomyolysis which leaks toxins into the blood after a muscle injury.

A vigil was held for Jacob on Sunday night at Rhodes Skate Park where nearly 300 people showed up to honor the boy with the energetic personality that was known for being a go-getter.

A Go Fund Me account has been set up to help with Jacob Rupp's funeral expenses.
