Over the weekend I was at the 5th Annual Meridian Block Party at Settlers Park.  They had a ton of booths and great free, family fun!  I was surprised and happy to learn that we have some really great services in the Treasure Valley.

One of the places I found out we had was the Idaho Center For Autism which is located on N. Market Lane in Boise.  Their website is idahocenterforautism.com

They are certified by the state to provide therapeutic services to children, teens and families.  They have speech therapy, OT and behavioral intervention all under one roof. If you know of a family who has a child with autism it seems like this would be a fabulous place to start for resources.

The other cool thing for kids I found was a class being offered through Meridian Parks and Recreation that was specific for kids who have a knack for video gaming.  The class teaches kids basic computer code like HTML and also teaches them how to create algorithms to develop video games and software.  The class is offered to kids 8-17.  Check out more offerings here.
