Many of us have forgotten that we still have boys fighting the nation's largest wildfire right here in our backyard.

 

Don't be fooled... the rain this weekend will not put an end to this fire that's going on three months burning now.  The 188,000 acre fire is at 85% containment but the Boise National Forest says they expect this to burn in the high country for another month.

 

The expected containment date has come and gone and has now been pushed back to November 15.

 

Rain will help slightly but not much.  Snow is what we need to put this fire down for good.  The Pioneer Fire has burned almost 300 acres since it started on July 18.
