Was This Actual Magic Or Just A Good Trick?

This morning I was telling you about the crazy magic trick I was a part of at my wife's company Christmas party over the weekend. This is the picture I was talking about!

The magician sealed an "envelope of mystery" and put it well outside of his reach. Then he drew a stick figure of me on a large piece of paper.  He then turned away from it and closed his eyes.  Then he instructed my wife to pick out a marker from a basket and color in the shirt, shoes, etc.  When she was done, the magician had my wife open the "envelope of mystery" and the picture that was inside it matched the one my wife colored exactly!

How in the word did the magician predict the color choices my wife would use on the drawing the magician made?  Her choices (red shirt, blue tie, etc.) matched the ones her had done earlier in the evening and stuffed in the "envelope of mystery."  Soooo freaky!
