Treasure Valley Sex Offenders Allowed to Hand Out Candy

I had no idea this was allowed, but sex-offenders can hand out trick-or-treat candy under certain circumstances. Here's what you need to be aware of.

As long as a registered sex offender is not on probation or parole they are allowed to hand out candy to trick-or-treaters just like everyone else.

According to KTVB, sex offenders are not encouraged to hand out candy, but nothing says they can't have their light on and hand out whatever they want as long as they aren't on parole or on probation. Officers say it is discouraged though for both the protection of the public and for the offender's protection as to not potentially put themselves in a compromising situation.
