Long gone are the days of just checking out books at the library.  You can now check out WiFi to take home for weeks at a time.

The Garden City Library has five of the devices.  It's the hottest item in the building and this trend is starting to catch on across the country.  The hotspot devices can be checked out for two weeks at a time.  It's already charged, you push the "On" button and Whamo you're ready to go.

About 250 people a day come to each library to log on to computers.  Homework, business, job applications, etc... all this has to be done but sometimes it's just not convenient to do it at the library.  And sometimes the library computers don't give access to info or sites you need.  You must have a library card and be at least 18 years old.

Garden City is just one of the Treasure Valley libraries to be loaning out hotspots.  Other locations are in Boise, Meridian, and Caldwell.
