The Boise Police Department received a tip through CrimeStoppers last night about a 13-year-old boy who allegedly made a vague threat that caused worry to those around him. When investigating, the student admitted to making the threat, and police searched the home in search of possible material to make an explosive. The Boise Police determined there was no evidence.

The investigation continued today and around 1 p.m. authorities learned that the suspect had left some kind of package at a local elementary school which was cause for concern.  All students and staff members were placed on lockdown as police searched the building with help from the suspect and found that the object left at the school was no threat.

The 13-year-old boy has been booked into the juvenile detention center.  The Boise Police take absolutely no chances when it comes to the safety of our children.  We thank these fine men and women who serve and protect us every day.
