This was just delivered to my hotel room!

Upon further investigation I discovered it's from my sweet neighbor Olivia. It got me thinking how I don't do nice things for people near as often as I should. We all should. It just makes life so much sweeter.

So here's some easy things you can do to make someone's day:

1. Reach out! It's so easy these days to send a quick text or make a quick phone call to let someone know you care. Try to stay in contact with everyone you love in your life on a regular basis.

2. Share your food! I always worry if I make cookies that they aren't good enough to share, but I shouldn't tell myself that. Who doesn't like receiving cookies, or a loaf of bread, or a hot meal once in a while. (There is a fine line here. I wouldn't do this with strangers, but your friends, neighbors, co-workers, and family will usually love it.)

3. Send snail mail! My grandma still sends cards and letters in the mail. She does this for every single holiday and we love getting her cards! It doesn't cost much and people love getting something they don't get very often any more.

4. Ask people about their day! I am so bad at saying "How are you?" but not following that up with a deeper conversation. Pay attention when people talk and ask them about the race they just ran or their date on Friday night.

5.Smile! It's such an easy thing, but I must be bad at it, because I am told to "smile" all the time. I'm not ornery, but I need to make it a point to smile at people. Everyone feels a little better when they see someone smiling and happy. Even if you're having a bad day if you force yourself to smile at a stranger, it will probably make you feel better too!
