Not quite sure how I feel about this, but apparently this happened...

Some say it's a scientific milestone....and is paving the way for same-sex mammals to produce offspring. No, this is not a Halloween prankster, fake-news story.

Nicole Karlis from the Salon website just posted an in-depth article about this.

According to a study just released by the Chinese Academy of Science, researchers were able to use embryonic stem cells and gene editing to successfully produce offspring from two male mice and from two female mice. The mice with two mothers lived to adulthood and made babies of their own. The mice with two fathers apparently only lived for 48 hours.

I don't claim to be knowledgeable about any of this stem cell technology, but something about this just doesn't sit well with me. It just seems like there are way too many things to go wrong, and a new Stephen King novel is right around the corner, only this time it's not fiction.

I may be old fashioned, but I'm not ready for the Island of Doctor Moreau to become reality, and I'm not sure mankind is supposed to be messing with nature in this way.

The movie Multiplicity should give us a clue as well. Every copy of a copy gets worse, and eventually a copy gets made that just isn't right.

Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but it just seems like mankind is messing with something here that wasn't ever supposed to be messed with. You may have a different opinion, and you're certainly welcome to it. We'll just have to agree to disagree.
