I went to buy groceries last weekend for my daughter's wedding and I noticed this big guy pulling into the "Expecting Mothers" parking spot.  I knew I should probably just let this go, but I didn't.

At first, I thought maybe he had a wife or a daughter that was expecting.  Nope!  He was middle aged, blasting loud music, and after he parked, he just sat there.  He was all by himself.  Me being me, I casually strolled within talking distance and blurted out, "When are you expecting?"  He asked me to repeat myself, so I did.  "When are you expecting?  The sign.  You see where you're parked right?"  He told me to mind my own business.

I came from a large family.  I saw the sacrifice my mom put in raising seven children and yes, I do think maybe she would've occasionally appreciated a spot like this.  My own wife and I had five kids and now one of my daughters just had a baby.  Carrying a child, having a child, and raising a child all comes with its challenges.  Someone was kind enough to try, in a small way, to make life easier for these women.  We, as men, should respect that.

I told the man he should find another place to park and he started screaming obscenities and attempting to goad me into some kind of a physical altercation.  There was no point in me continuing in my argument so I casually walked into the store and ignored his yelling.  I don't know if this man will think twice before doing this again or if he'll want to do it more to prove how he's going to stick it to everyone.  I have to believe that through all his yelling and anger, somewhere in the back of his mind, he knows, and he'll learn.
