A search warrant has been issued to unearth a pest believed to be affecting Idaho's potatoes.

Federal Authorities will be testing the soil in Southeast Idaho this week for a microscopic potato pest that could reduce crop production by 80%!!

According to KTVB, the pale cyst nematode was first discovered back in 2006 and there have been issues in certain areas ever since.

Now soil samples will be taken at the farm in Bingham County and restrictions may be placed on infected fields.

We don't like anything that effects the quality of our potatoes, so hopefully if the pest is found we can get rid if it and we can continue to produce the best taters in the country!
