A meeting is taking place tonight with the number one priority being a discussion on widening Eagle Road in Meridian, Idaho.  The traffic jams, time lost, idling vehicles, and long waits have long been discussed and some often joke about how they'll never travel Eagle Road no matter what time of day it is.  Changes coming may make a much needed positive impact on that issue.

KIVI TV reports that tonight the Ada County Highway District is holding a meeting and YES, widening that overpopulated drive down Eagle Road is the main priority in discussions.  This is a community open house meeting that is currently underway where anyone and everyone is invited.

There's already a design in progress wanting to widen Eagle Road in the lower level Bannock Room at the St. Luke's Meridian Medical Center, 520 S area.  A Facebook post from the Ada County Highway District stated...

The Eagle Road Project includes widening Eagle Road between Amity and Victory to two lanes in each direction, with a center turn lane, as well as a multi-use pathway for cyclists and pedestrians. The purpose of the project is to improve traffic flow and increase safety for those that walk, bike and drive

If you could not make the meeting and would like to leave your thoughts or comments, you're welcome to send those to the Ada County Highway District at 3775 Adams St., Garden City, ID 83714 or to projects@achdidaho.org by September 10th of this year.
