Recently I had the honor of visiting the famous St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.  The hospital was founded by entertainer Danny Thomas in 1962 on the premise that "no child should die in the dawn of life."  The hospital specializes on treating childhood cancer but also treats a number of other conditions.  When I was there, I met a teenager being treated for sickle cell anemia for example.

The work they do and the facility itself is nothing short of absolutely incredible.  The people of St. Jude go above and beyond to make sure the patients get their proper treatment, the patients have everything they need to be as comfortable as possible, the families are taken care of during what can be an extremely difficult time, and more!  All their research is openly shared so if some other organization is able to build upon the work of St. Jude and finally find a cure for cancer it can be done.  Children from all over the world are welcome to come there for treatment.  And perhaps the best part, NO ONE receives a bill from St. Jude!  A family's ability to pay plays no part in their receiving care.

Of course, we'll be having our St. Jude Radiothon in February where we'll be inviting you to open your heart and contribute to this very worth while organization.  If you've never been but would like to take a look at their amazing campus, I invite you to take a look at the pictures I was able to take during my visit. CLICK HERE for more info on St. Jude
