I've lived here for six years, and I've driven by the Idaho State Capitol building dozens of times, but not once had I ever taken the time to go inside. Until now! A few weeks ago, while my family was in town for my wedding reception, I decided to get into tourist mode while showing my family around town. We went to some of our favorite places around the Treasure Valley, like The Village at Meridian and Freak Alley, but then we chose to go somewhere I'd never explored: the State Capitol building.

I was so surprised at how absolutely beautiful it was inside. I mean, my jaw dropped when I walked in to see floor to ceiling marble (or some sort of rock). All the beautiful details from the door handles to the light fixtures were so impressive! We spent about 20 minutes walking around and it was absolutely worth the time.

If you're looking for something to do around town that won't cost you a dime, definitely take the time to stop by. They also offer guided tours by reservation, get info HERE.
