42 year old Brant Balls is lucky to be alive after his mother shot him while hunting in Clark County on Saturday.

He's currently listed in fair condition at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.  Balls was hunting moose in Pleasant Valley when his mother's rifle accidentally went off striking him in the upper leg.  Luckily, several people nearby had medical experience and tended to Balls while the ambulance was on the way.

Balls was taken to a helipad in Dubois where he then took a helicopter to the hospital.

The bullet shattered his femur and damaged several arteries and nerves in his leg.  Best wishes to Balls getting better.  The shooting is under investigation.
