A mountain lion that was killing house cats and dogs has been put down.

The mountain lion was attacking cats and dogs in Oakley during this past week and law states that mountain lions who pose a threat to a person or property can be killed without a license or tag so they put the lion down.

According to KTVB a live trap has been set up to try and catch a second mountain lion that is possibly involved it the killing of pets.

Remember to stay away from any traps you come across and if you see a mountain lion in a residential area call police immediately.

It's also a probably a good idea to keep your pets inside if at all possible instead of leaving them out for long periods of time. No one wants to lose their pet this way.
