Mountain Home Air Force Base was placed on lockdown this morning. Here's what we know so far.

The lockdown was originally described as a "real world situation." According to KTVB there were reports of an active shooter at about 4 a.m. this morning. By 6 a.m. the lockdown had been lifted and the incident was deemed a false alarm.

Mountain Home Air Force base did announce yesterday that they were gong to conduct 24 hour readiness training this week to prepare for real world emergencies and right now it's unclear if this was a part of that training, if there was just some confusion, or if someone really thought they saw someone with a gun.

We are so grateful that this was only a false alarm and that no one has been injured or killed. No word yet on how the rumor started or what specifically surrounded the lockdown.

We will keep you posted as details unfold.
