Hundreds of people from Meridian marched yesterday to provide meals for the elderly in ADA County.

The Treasure Valley has become a popular place to retire and for good reason. It's beautiful here, cost of living is relatively low, and the weather is fairly mild; but there are many older people who still need help getting enough to eat.

That's why hundreds of people in Meridian turned out Saturday to march for Meals on Wheels which provides over 1,000 meals to the elderly every day and 700 meals on the weekends. The best part about the event was it was completely free to march, but Food Services of America agreed to donate $5 for each person who participated.

862 people took part in the march which raised $4,310 to provide meals for the ever growing elderly community here in the Treasure Valley. Way to go Meridian's!! For more information on feeding the elderly of ADA County click HERE.
