How scary is this?!! A man threatening with a knife in broad daylight in downtown Boise?! Here's what police say happened.

About 12:20 p.m. yesterday a man approached another man getting into his car in the 2800 block of Malad Street. According to KTVB 28-year-old Martin R. Meraz allegedly pulled out a knife and his actions caused the man he approached to fear for his life.

We don't know what Meraz said to the man and it does not seem that he hurt the man, but rather just threatened him with the knife. So far we know no motive as to why Meraz threatened the man. There does not appear to be a connection between the two and it seems Meraz chose his victim at random.

This could potentially be the second alleged crime for Meraz, as Tonya Bloedel posted in Boise Bench Dwellers Facebook group that she recognized this man to be the male who went into her house unannounced the day prior.

Meraz was caught at the corner of Malad and Owyhee and he was booked into the Ada County Jail on charges of aggravated assault.
