Kuna Dad Pleads Not Guilty to Daughter’s Death

A 14 year old girl is dead and her father says he is not responsible. What do you think?

46 year old James D. Barnes pleaded "not guilty" in court today on charges of marijuana possession and felony injury to a child.

Barnes and his wife at the time, 25 year old Jordan Jamison were arguing and hitting each other as they drove along Black Cat Road on March 31, 2016.

His 14 year old daughter Autumn Barnes was in the back seat as the couple was arguing. James lost control of his SUV during the argument at the intersection of Amity and Black Cat Road.

The SUV flipped and Autumn who was not wearing a seat belt was ejected from the vehicle. The 14 year old died at the scene of the crash.

According to KTVB, Jamison is also being held responsible for the crash and will enter a plea on February 14th.

Despite the "not guilty" plea, Barnes is facing up to 20 years in jail.
