Idaho residents are being advised by the U.S. Attorney's Office and the U.S. Marshal's Service to be aware of phone calls threatening arrests for not responding to jury duty.

You'll probably say to yourself, "I don't remember receiving a jury summonses."  That's because you haven't.  These guys are good at making you think you missed it somehow and then they drop the hammer to get your information.

Calls are being reported in the Boise and Coeur d'Alene areas so far.  Here's one of the phone numbers people are getting calls from.  (208) 391-5870.  Callers are claiming to be Deputy Marshals and demands payment to post bond for not showing up.  That number is not a valid number for the U.S. Marshals Service.

A valid arrest warrant will always be delivered in person by a Deputy U.S. Marshal or some kind of law enforcement officer.  If you receive such a phone call, do not give any information, do not pay any money, hang up and contact the authorities.

The F.B.I. is currently investigating this crime.
