Idaho’s Underground School

Did you know we have an underground elementary school here in Boise?

Their mascot is the groundhog and rightfully so! Groundhogs have buried themselves into the roof and they pop up on the playground too!

Built in 1978, Amity Elementary is one of a kind! Grass covers the sides of the building, dirt is on the roof, and you will probably find a pretty good puddle in the parking lot when it rains.

One thing is for sure though, they have some amazing kids and teachers at this underground elementary.

You can catch the kids of Amity Elementary saying the Pledge of Allegiance at 8:05 a.m. with Rick and Carly during the next couple weeks.
