Idaho School Worker Sentenced To Treatment For Child Porn

As a parent, I think I can speak for all of us when I say stories like this turn my stomach.  According to reports from KTVB, the Third District Court Judge Davis VanderVelde sentenced 55-year-old Charles Gonzales to a special treatment program after Gonzales was arrested for having more than 200 files of child pornography on his computer.  The judge added that if Gonzales does not complete the treatment mandated, he could do up to 10 years in jail.

The Idaho Crimes Against Children Unit was tipped off by an anonymous caller back in March.  Gonzales worked for the West Ada School District for 14 years as a computer technology technician at Sawtooth Middle School and Hunter and Prospect elementary schools but it is not believed that his connection with the schools is in any way connected to his online illegal activity.

Gonzales pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual exploitation of a child.  He was fired eight days after his arrest.
