Imagine getting pulled over and one of our fine officers asks you to join him in prayer instead of getting a ticket.

A Kootenai County Sheriff's Deputy is getting a lot of praise for his small acts of kindness.  Deputy Mathew Brakeman pulled over a woman in Hayden who was speeding a couple weeks ago.  The woman was emotional, upset and had her mother was in the passenger seat.  They were on their way to the oncologist for another painful treatment for her mother's cancer.

Officer Brakeman went over to the passenger window and asked the mother if she'd join him in prayer.  Officer Brakeman lost his own mother to cancer and this moment needed something very different than a ticket or even a warning.  I believe he was the perfect officer in the perfect place at the perfect time.

Officer Brakeman sent them on their way and has no idea who the two ladies are and probably will never hear or see them again.  Then the young lady driving took to the department's facebook page and wrote this.  "Needless to say, I emotionally lost it. I don't know the officer's name that stopped me, but I want to thank him for his blessings and for hope."

This young deputy makes me proud to live in Idaho!
