Idaho Couple Arrested for Abusing 1-Yr-Old
I just can’t even imagine what would drive someone to do this. A couple from Twin Falls has been arrested on charges of severely beating their one year old infant. Reports say that this abuse of their son has been going on for months. Rudy A. Garcia and Angelica M. Najera now face felony charges of injury to a child with an enhanced count of infliction of great bodily injury.
Interestingly, this investigation began on a seemingly unrelated way. According to deputies, this case came to their attention after they had received word of stolen tools at a construction site on Linder Road. Detectives in the case labeled Garcia as a suspect and it was believed that Najera had tried to sell the allegedly stolen tools.
It was from this that they began to investigate the couple for abuse of their one-year-old son. If convicted they could face as much as 30 years in prison.
Police say that bruising all over the boy’s body was discovered as a result of the abuse. Two other children are now in custody of the state, both of whom are pre-school age.
