Just 45 minutes from downtown Boise, Idaho City if filled with history. This weekend, the residents open up their town to people from all over for their annual Idaho City Days.

Held annually on the first weekend in October, it's your opportunity to visit the small mountain town. You'll find the streets full of artists, crafters, antique dealers and other vendors. There'll be plenty of shopping opportunities with our local businesses and the vendors, and you can stroll the streets and take in some of the living history of our state.

If you're new to the area, and haven't taken the drive to Idaho City, this is your weekend to do just that. It's a beautiful drive along side creeks, boulders, pine and aspen trees, and, if you're lucky, you'll see an occasional deer, elk, or even moose.

Besides the street vendors and craft booths, the Idaho City Chamber of Commerce has a full two days of activities and events planned out for visitors.

  • Fun Run
  • Amusements
  • 50/50 Raffle
  • Beer Garden
  • Street Dance
  • Sunday Church Services
  • Volunteer Firefighters Breakfast

In addition to all of that, many of the historical buildings in Idaho City will be open, so you can check them out. You'll find something for everyone!

So take the trip up Highway 21 this weekend and enjoy the scenery, the fun, and Idaho City Days!
