We don't have snow yet, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be extra careful on Idaho's roads.

Crashes involving nine vehicles caused a mess on I-84 in Central Idaho yesterday morning.

Luckily there were only minor injuries in seven of the wrecks, but some were not so fortunate. In one accident a van rolled with three people inside. All three were injured, although we don't know the extent of their injuries. Another three car accident resulted in injuries. The accidents made for a mess in Jerome from about 5-7 a.m. on Friday.

According to usnews.com, black Ice had formed in the area.

This time of year always catches lots of people off guard. Since there isn't snow on the ground, we continue to drive too fast and too carelessly. All of a sudden we hit black ice or some little slick spot that can send you spinning.

Please be very careful as you travel around the state and into our neighboring states. It may not be obvious, but treat the roads as if you are driving in winter conditions.

Let's keep it safe and set a goal to not loose any more lives on Idaho's roads this holiday season.
