I used to run a lot.  But then I had kids.  Ate poorly.  Drank beer.  You get the idea.  But my tallest daughter has decided to take up running and wants to do a 5K. So Dad bought some new kicks and is back on the street training to run with her.

Unlike my younger days though, today I am much more prone to injury.  In fact, I spend as much time icing my knees as I do running.  So rather than hit the road and hurt myself, I decided to look for some guidance to get back into the swing of things.

After some googling, I found a program created by the Mayo Clinic that shows you how you can train for a 5K run in just seven weeks.  It's a combination of running, walking, sprinting, and resting.  (I like the resting best...).

You can find the program HERE.  Maybe we'll see each other at a 5K.  The Turkey Day 5K is coming up on Thanksgiving. As of today, we have 76 days to get ready for it!  Gobble-gobble.
