How does the Marine Corps celebrate their birthday?? With cake! And a sword?

The Marine Corps has an amazing history, so when its birthday rolls around, it's a great time to reflect and recognize our marines...oh and a time to eat cake too!

Every year there's a traditional cake-cutting ceremony, but with a twist. A commanding officer uses a mameluke sword to cut the cake, then gives a piece to the oldest marine in attendance, who then passes it on to the youngest marine.

What a cool way to celebrate! Cheers to the U.S. Marine Corps on their 240th birthday!!!
