I was honored to attend a lunch for our veterans at First Baptist Church put on by the Boise Rescue Mission.  Out of all our years working with the Rescue Mission I never realized they had a special Veterans Ministry.  Sure I knew about City Light (for women and children), the Men's Ministry (those battling addiction), but I had no idea that the Veteran's Ministry has been serving the chronically homeless vets in our community for the last five years.  Their success rate is incredible and helps to facilitate VA services and more for the men and women who have sacrificed so much.

This leads me into Hope for the Holidays.  If you have been listening to this radio station for a little bit, you have certainly grown accustomed to Hope for the Holidays, and though throughout the years it has evolved, the beneficiary has remained the same.  The Boise Rescue Mission and City Light Home For Women and Children.

Last year we set up at four area Fred Meyer stores to collect goods and you came through in a big way - so after listening to you we decided to do the same thing this year!  Hope for the Holidays will be on Monday, December 15th this year.  As we finalize some of the locations, just wanted to give you a heads up that WOW will be at a few different Fred Meyer's in the Treasure Valley from 6a-7p collecting goods for the Mission and City Light.  We would love to see and meet you!
