My heart breaks for the family of Sgt. Greg Moore of Couer D'Alene. His death is a reminder that police officers put themselves in danger every day for us.

With all of the news lately about police brutality and racism, it's important to remember that most cops are honorable, kind, and put on the uniform in order to serve and protect. From what I've read about him, Greg Moore was one of those guys. People talk about his dedication to his community, his professionalism, and his love of his family.

Let that sink in for a second.

He wasn't just a cop. He was a husband and a father.

In all of the discourse around negative police interactions with the public, it's often lost that police are human beings with people in their lives they love and who they are responsible for. Yes, I know that most cops' families are aware of the risks. But still, loss is never easy. My thoughts are with Greg Moore's family during this difficult time.
