Every year people seem to get a little more anxious to get into that Christmas spirit.  I haven't heard too many people talking about Thanksgiving now that Halloween's over with.  Its Christmas they're talking about.  And it's not just my friends or co-workers or people I associate with, its entire cities here in the Treasure Valley.  The stores are full of Chrismas candy, decorations, and gifts.  Lights are going up on houses and trees are already popping up with ornaments and angels flying high.

The city of Meridian is NOT about to be left behind and has already announced their annual Winter Lights Parade and Christmas Tree Lighting hosted by Les Schwab Tire Center in Meridian.  You can check out the details below...

Meridian Winter Lights Parade & Christmas Tree Lighting

  • Friday, November 30th
  • 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
  • Downtown Meridian / Generations Plaza
  • Hosted by Meridian Parks and Recreation

The celebration will have more than 50 brightly lit floats, marching bands, and walking entries to usher in the holiday season.  After the parade, the lighting of Meridian’s giant Christmas tree will take place in Generations Plaza and Santa Claus will help set off fireworks.  There's free hot chocolate along the parade route and the classic 'Grinch Who Stole Christmas' will play on the Heritage Building at the corner of Idaho and Main Street at 5:30 pm.

After the tree lighting, there will be free horse-drawn carriage rides thanks to one of the main sponsors, Les Schwab.  You can get more details by clicking below.
