Do you ever want to go for a bike ride, but you just don't have a bike, or maybe you have family visiting from out of town and you want to ride the Greenbelt, but they didn't bring their bikes, starting next week you can now check out bikes at the Library.

I can't tell you how many times I've had family in town and we want to go ride bikes but they obviously couldn't bring their bikes on the plane or they didn't want to haul them across the state.

Sure you can rent bikes, but it's usually around $20/hour. This new program at the Unbound branch of Meridian Library called "Book a Bike."

Book a Bike allows you to rent out bikes free of charge, just like you would a library book and they have bikes that range from toddler size all the way to adult sized bikes. The bikes also come with a helmet, lock, and light.

You do need to be at least 18 years old and have a library card to check out a bike.

A grant to fight childhood obesity from the Blue Cross has helped fund this awesome program.

According to KTVB, "Book a Bike" will be available April 14th.
