Forget visiting Deadwood Reservoir this Labor Day weekend, the Pioneer Fire has shut it down!

According to KTVB, Deadwood Reservoir will most likely be closed until the Pioneer Fire is contained.

Unfortunately, the Pioneer Fire continues to grow and has scorched 165,000 acres or 258 square miles.

The Pioneer Fire continues to hover around the 52% containment mark.

Campers at Deadwood Reservoir have been evacuated and the closure was to ensure that campers won't become trapped by the fire and firefighters are looking to build containment lines in the Deadwood area and Bear Valley.
