Megan Rolland of Emmett set a personal record at the Olympic Trials yesterday, but failed to qualify for the 2016 games.

Megan, a former Emmett High Huskie, ran the 3000 meter steeplechase yesterday in the U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials and although she beat her own personal record with a time of 9:35:31, finished 7th overall. Megan had to finish in the top 3 to make it to Rio.

On a positive note, BSU sophmore Allie Ostrander qualified for the finals that will take place on Sunday. She finished 4th and is the only collegiate athlete to compete in the women's 5K. If she finishes in the top 3 in Sunday's finals she'll compete in the 2016 games.

The finals will air Sunday at 5:28 on KTVB.
