Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels were joined Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show last night (6/10) to talk about the release of Dumb And Dumber To  in November, and to premiere the trailer.

Twenty years have passed since the world last met up with Harry and Lloyd, and in that time our absent minded friends have remained as close as ever in spite of the fact Lloyd’s spent most his time at a psychiatric hospital. Once he’s free, however, it’s back to the same schtick we all fell in love with back in the early 1990s. That is, until Harry learns that he has a daughter and the two set off on the journey of a lifetime. Hijinks ensue, but as this is a general audience trailer for a hard ‘R’ comedy it’s likely most the truly good bits have yet to be revealed.

I have been as on the fence about this film as any fan of the original, but even though I don’t think this clip is as funny as I had hoped it makes me believe the final product might truly be something special. The chemistry Daniels and Carrey share is undeniable, and it appears the Farrelly brothers have done a fantastic job of developing their characters ever-so-slightly without changing what made audiences love them in the first place.
