Should Whitney in Middleton get back together with her superficial ex-boyfriend or kick him to the curb for good?

We received this letter from Whitney.

Dear Rick and Carly, 

I saw my ex-boyfriend on Tuesday for the first time in almost a year. He said he almost didn't recognize me because I've lost a ton of weight and basically had an extreme make-over. When we were together he would stare at other girls and make comments about how great they looked. Now the tide has turned and he just e-mailed me about getting back together again. Should I give him another chance or cast his superficial self to the side of the road?
