Multiple structures are being threatened as 300-plus-acres are burning south of Riggins.

The Rattlesnake Creek Fire has multiple ground and air resources battling the blaze that can be seen on the west side of Highway 95 near mile marker 184 south of Pollock.

According to KTVB, the blaze started at about noon today and the fire spread quickly.

Authorities have asked people to not stop along the highway to gawk at the blaze and you should avoid the area in general.

Updates on the fire can be found on the Idaho County Sheriffs Facebook page and if closures occur you can find information on that on the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests Fire Information page.

Please keep all of those battling this blaze and everyone affected by this fire in your thoughts and prayers.

No word yet on what started the fire and so far crews have not given an estimate on when they expect it to be contained.
