An Idaho county is enforcing a new ban on using smartphones while driving.  That's right... NO smartphone use!

Blaine County commissioners passed this ordinance last month that bans the use of hand-held electronic mobile devices while driving.  So what about siri?  Or voice command?  Or sitting at a stop light somewhere?  Well... get ready for a $100 fine.

Idaho state law bans texting while driving but not other uses of the smartphones.  That's all changing quickly.

Deputies are already stopping drivers for using their cell phones in any type of way and are, for now, trying to educate the public on this new ordinance.  Tickets are written if necessary.
